Hello Brothers,
It is my prayer that each of you are experiencing the goodness of the Lord in every area of your life. I am writing this message because I am inspired by the opportunity that God has given us to “TAKE NEW TERRITORY” and to enjoy the wealth of the Kingdom of Heaven in the earth.
Throughout my life, I have experienced a number of spiritual and emotional encounters that have proved to me that my life is better in God’s hands. When I was created, God placed in me a hunger for Him and a desire for His purpose for my life. Because of sin and poor decisions, I have come to know what it means to fail God, my family and myself. But thanks be to God, the Lord never allowed me remain in despair. The Scripture that help me through times of setback is Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. This scripture was an anchor of salvation for me in times of defeat and despair. I can remember when it appeared to me that I was far from God and His purpose for my life. My wife and children did not have the proper covering; and I was totally disgusted with my life. Alcoholism became my choice of medication for the pain that I was experiencing day after day. At the age of 40, I was introduced to an extraordinary MAN, who actually practiced what he preached. This man is Dr. Fred L. Hodge Jr.. I remember watching him, and I thought that I could never be like him, or be acceptable to serve as one of his spiritual sons. He said, “Sylvester, give me one year of your life and I will help put you on the path of purpose and fulfillment”. I took the offer, but it did not take the full year…I saw considerable positive change in a matter of months. I am proud to say that I am not only one of his spiritual sons, but the quality of my spiritual and natural life has changed for the better exponentially!!! I know if I die before the Lord comes, I will have a testimony of VICTORY because of my connection to God and my spiritual father, Dr. Hodge!
